Ann and I had some sailing in our past but really started to learn about over the past 2 years that we have been together. Ann's brother and my son are both sailors. We are retired & semi retired living in a lovely old brick condo in a treelined neighborhood near U of I. We bought our little Laguna Windrose only a year & a half ago and have been learning to sail with our friends at Clinton Lake Sailing Association.
Sailing to Washington Island
Green Bay is on the North West corner of Lake Michigan. The bay is separated from the lake by Door Peninsula. We are sailing up the west side of Door Peninsula to Washington Island to visit our friends the Kibbees who have have a summer home there. We will start half way up, at Egg Harbor and skip along the little towns and harbors along the peninsula. It's our first trip beyond safe Clinton Lake in our little 22 foot sailboat Hard Tack. After months of improving the boat and our sailing, we are taking the plunge!
